Week 2: My Favorite Things

It's time for week 2 of the My Favorite Things challenge!  This week's challenge: This {Thanksgiving} week, focus on your favorite thing about your husband (or your family).  Instead of dwelling on the things you don't like about your hubby, appreciate what he does well.  If you are a blogger, write a post about your favorite thing about him.  Show it to him; he'll love it!

I've had to think about this quite a bit, and there are truly tons of things I love about my husband.  I love his smile, and his sense of humor.  I love that he is my best friend, and keeper of my heart.  I love how he knows everything about me, and he lets me know everything about him too.  I love how there are no boundaries between us.  In starting to write this, almost chose his sense of humor.  But I remembered a conversation I had with one of my friends one time.  They asked me, why him?  My reply was, "He was the only man I ever told to step away, who not only didn't walk away, he took a step closer."

I was a wreck when I met my now husband.  I had just gotten out of an emotionally draining relationship.  The guy I had been with previously nearly broke me and my spirit completely.  I had no trust for men, I had no desire for a relationship, and I thought I could never love a man.  Ever.  Then walks in my now husband.  Naive of me and my insecurities.  He was always there for me, even when I was at my ugliest.  Instead of thinking that I was crazy, and my emotional baggage too much, he just keep loving me.  I told him to leave, and he stayed.  I wouldn't be with him today, and I wouldn't have embraced who I was, and my femininity if it wasn't for my husband.

So, that's what my favorite thing about him is.  It's also one of the biggest reasons I love him so much!
