Getting Back To Blogging!

I'm back!  Well, sort of.  But we'll get to that in a minute!

Our Christmas was very wonderful.  I did something this year I thought would be impossible.

I completely surprised my husband with his gift!

My husband and I tell each other everything, and always discuss large purchases, so making the decision to get this without talking to my husband was SO hard.  I was DYING to tell him what I had bought.  But I didn't.  I was so excited for him to open his gift I may or may not have woken him up at 6 AM (what I have always deemed the earliest appropriate time to wake someone up on Christmas day.)  I felt like I was going to burst inside waiting for him to open it!

But before he opened it, as it was to be the last opened, I opened some amazing gifts of my own.  I got a commercial grade digital thermometer, a new set of spatulas (which were greatly needed!!), a whole set of wooden spoons, a whole new set of ladles, two books (Catching Fire and Mockingjay, anyone else reading these books?! They are amazing!), and he also got me a down pillow, AND a king size down comforter!!!!  I was not expecting these, but was sooooo happy to get them!  I had to throw my down alternative comforter away over the summer because it was old and kept poofing out feathers.  We hadn't bought one yet because of how expensive they were, and because I will admit I'm picky!  I wanted the new blanket to feel like the old one.  I have the most amazing husband because he actually requested the sales lady take the anti theft device off the zipper of the down comforter he bought, just so he could feel it!!  I told my husband he could not blame me if I just laid in bed and read all week being as he bought me such a cozy gift!

I got Rob a HUGE bag of tootsie rolls, and some kit kats, he got some tools, some clothes, and for the big gift, I got him a PlayStation 3!!!  I wish I would have had my camera.  He just stared at it in the box, with an expression I truly have not seen before!  He couldn't believe it!  His last gift after that was of course, another game for the PS3.

Needless to say we've had fun playing games the rest of our Christmas break!

After we opened our gifts we went down to my mom and dads to give them their gifts and to get our gifts.  Robby got  more tools, a gift card, and candy, and I got some PJs, slippers, a book, some make up/jewelry, and then our big gift from mom and dad was a Keurig!!!  AH! Needless to say I've been enjoying all the different K-cups that came as samples.

Now as the holiday is over, I can look back and reflect on the fact that next year there will be some definite changes.  I would like to achieve a simpler, more organized, less stressed holiday season.  I'll have to do much more planning, and start earlier, but doing so will completely pay off in the end.

As to being back to blogging, I am unsure how much I'll be blogging this week.  I've got damage control to do at home, but then I also have a blog design I'm working on, some exciting blog series I'm working on, and making myself a schedule to work with to keep myself a little more organized.  I hope to do some posts, but probably nothing too profound will come this week.

So, how was your Christmas?  Are you planning to do anything different to make things smoother and easier next year?

I've never read the Hunger Games, but everyone raves about them! Enjoy your time with your gifts! :)
