Grocery Store Comparison

As I stated last week in my post One Income Family, In A Two Income World, I compared shopping at Aldis to Sunfresh which is the other grocery store we shop at.  It was very nice to actually see the amount of money we save.  I don't want this entry to make you feel like your a bad person if you shop at a name brand grocery store, I just want everyone out there to be aware.  I know when we used to shop at a name brand grocery store, we always thought that the price difference wasn't that different, when it fact there is quite a big difference.  Here are the comparisons made.  I made a list of things to compare before hand, and while at Sunfresh I didn't chose the most expensive item, nor did I chose their off brand items.  I picked the items that were right in the middle.  Without further ado, here are my findings!

We would have saved 55.82 by buying all of these items at Aldis vs. Sunfresh.  55 dollars is quite a bit of money to be saving, and flavor does't have to be compromised!  One other interesting tid bit of information is the strawberries we bought at Aldis for .99 were the EXACT SAME brand that they had at Sunfresh for 3.00.  If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask, and again if anyone out there in blog land has additional tips on saving money I would love to hear them!!

Thanks for linking this up! This will be very helpful for lots of people. I don't have an Aldis close to me... I don't even have a Wal-Mart super close to me {20 mins away} but, maybe I'll live by an Aldis one day and remember the savings!

We don't have an Aldis, but we do have a discount grocery store we shop at. I'm always surprised when I step into a name brand grocery store with someone at how much more expensive things are! I've never broken it down like this before though. It's good to know that I'm saving my family a significant amount of money by where I shop. :-)
