9/1/11

Ah, September

It's finally September!  September is such a wonderful month.  I browsed through some forums today where some ladies were talking about fall, and how excited they were for it to finally be here!  They were saying they either had already decorating for fall, or they were going to start decorating shortly.  And you know what?

I put my foot down!  I thought to myself, "It is 90 degrees today!"  "Fall doesn't actually start for 23 more days!"  "The trees haven't started changing yet!" "There is NO WAY I'm going to rush fall getting here, I want to enjoy every day!"

And to prove to myself I went to weather.com and I typed in our zip code, and I looked at the weather for the next 10 days, and I happily patted myself on the back, and said to myself, "See, look there, it's going to be 98 tomorrow!  That's not fall weather!"

And then I gasped.

I was awe struck.

I saw that from Sunday, to next Friday the temperature would be in the 70's.  And then I saw the low was supposed to get down to the 50's some of those days!!

Then I started reasoning with myself.  "Well, it's almost cooler, soo technically it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and light a pumpkin spice candle."  "I think I saw a yellow leaf outside, I'm sure it would be ok if I started pulling out some fall decorations."

Then I stopped myself and looked at pinterest instead.  Of some awesome fall, thanksgiving, halloween decoration ideas!  I thought I'd share some with you!

This would be great to keep candy in.  Probably not M & M's though!

Love this type of wreath, and I really hope to make one!

I was going to do this last year however things didn't go as planned!  You have the twigs assembled and everyone writes on a leaf what they are thankful for, and then you put them on the tree!

How cute is this?  And so harvesty!  You stick dried peas/beans to the middle of pumpkins or candles!

This just is so fall.  Wheat in containers, and a nice reminder to give thanks!

I laughed when I saw this.  My mom and dad have a tree that drops "gum balls" and they are so annoying!  This is a great idea for thanksgiving!

So, so cute!  I never would have thought of making tiny pumpkins into bats.

Another great thanksgiving/fall wreath idea!

I love how they have so many textures.  Cinnamon sticks, and leaves, and acorns together with candles.  Beautiful!

I do not like candy corn, but I would decorate with it!  Such a cute idea.

Again, great idea with the candy corn.

We have plenty of field corn, so I know I'll be doing this!

I'd probably not do candy and put in little tea-lights!

Another great idea for place settings!

Love the candles, it's such a good idea because it's so easy to do, and not costly.
Last but not least, check out this little turkey!

Too cute!
I've decided not to decorate much at all, or not until September 23, the official start of fall.  And most likely I won't decorate until October 1st, but it can't keep me from brainstorming decoration ideas!  So how do you decorate for the fall season?  Any awesome DIY tips you can share?  Feel free to share in the comments!

I'm sooo jealous. I'm pretty sure we'll continue to be in ungodly hot weather until... well. FOREVER. One of the "joys" of living in FL. Nevertheless, I am armed with Pinetrest and WILL be decorating for fall by the end of Sept. ;) Even if I'm sweating bullets. :l

Great ideas. Thank you for sharing. And they don't cost much. Love it. Especially the dog. Don't know if my dog would go for that!
